Pencil and watercolour on vellum, 45,6 x 36,4 cm, pencil signed and dated "P. J. Redouté 1838" (signature sl. faded, edges sl. browned and sl. soiled).

Mounted on panel. Under passe-partout and frame (studied outside frame).

Nice bouquet with 2 roses, a hyacinth, a tulip and 4 bellflowers. Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840) was court artist to Marie-Antoinette, one of the greatest botanical illustrators of all time and known as "the Raphael of flowers".
