Facsimile of the Plantin edition of 1574 (Plantin Press 2175), introduced by Max Rooses. With 67 portraits by Peter van der Borcht, lithographically reproduced. These represent physicians and philosophers from Antiquity and modern times, e.g. Fernelius, Vesalius, Gesnerus, Fuxius, Matthiolus, Biesius, Cardanus, Scaliger, Paracelsus.
