Extremely rare early small format NT (3rd recorded copy?). Re-issue of the NT of the 1559 8vo Latin Bible ed., with the type-composition re-arranged from 2 columns into 1 column. This pocket ed., printed in 1250 copies, was a joint venture of Plantin and the otherwise unknown François de la Chontière. With 2 of Plantin’s earliest marks (on title sm. size Compasses, at the end a biblical allegory).
