Only Dutch edition of Labat's detailed journal recording his travels in the Caribbean in 1694. The author, a Dominican priest, was Procurator-General of all the Dominican convents in the Antilles. W.C. Dyks, a former Norbertine from Knechtstede (Cologne) translated the work. The illustrations come from the French edition and depict botanical and zoological items such as coconut, ginger, sugar cane, manioc, etc. The maps depict North and part of South America with the Mexican Gulf and the island of Martinique.
