Rare later translation (1st ed. 1631, 1st translation 1635) of one of the best systematic military architectural manuals of the "older Dutch school", by Adam Freytag (1608-1650), Polish military engineer, mathematician and physician, based on the Dutch experience and practices in the war against Spain. Lavishly illustrated with a beautiful engr. title (same as the 1635 ed. but with different address), 35 double-page engr., depicting different types of fortifications, building machinery, cranes, etc., and 8 double-page tables of fortification measures etc.
