Later calf, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands, sp. edges (corners sl. bumped and rubbed, joints splitting, head and tail def.).

Only edition of this history of the County of Flanders up to 1476 by the Lille lawyer Jean d’Oudegherst (d. 1559), continued by his son Pierre (1540-1592). Plantin had too much work with his famous Biblia Polyglotta and had a number of printing tasks done by his colleague Jan (Ver)Withagen (with Plantin’s types!). Woodcut historiated initials and ornaments. Printed within ruled borders.
