Sm. folio (n.c. but probably incomplete, marg. dampstaining, marg. tear restored to the 2 first ff. and one marg. tear strengthened in the middle of the vol., one outer margin restored, occ. staining and soiling).

19th-c. crimson velvet over wooden boards, front cover with embossed metal centre (fig. the Christ with the Gospels or the Bible) and cornerpieces (fig. the Evangelists) and 4 smaller fig. heads of angels on dove wings, lower cover with embossed metal cabochons, flat spine, metal brass and clasps, red edges (rubbed, loosening, flyleaves renewed).

Illustrated with the 4 wood-engraved full-page portraits of the Evangelists. Resembling to the edition printed in Moscow by the Synodal Printed House in 1763, but with sm. differences. Printed in red & black with woodcut ornaments.
