An art folder containing 25 etchings by Jakob Smits (1855-1928), with a foreword by Dr Jozef Muls. Ed. of 100 copies and 10 not for sale, one of 90 on Arches (n. 91). Smits oeuvre depicts the life of the farmers in Achterbos, landscapes, Biblical scenes in a Kempian setting and portraits. In his works, he depicted the essence of the poor farming population and their deeply rooted faith.
