Contemp. quarter sheep, gilt-orn. flat spine (joints starting to split, def. to lower spine and head).

First French edition (1st 1772 in Danish), atlas volume only, to Eggert Olafsson's (1725-1768) "Voyage en Islande, fait par ordre de S.M. danoise" containing 1 beautiful folding map of Iceland (45,5 x 58,5 cm) and 59 plates showing life and activities of the inhabitants, lakes, rivers and fjords, glaciers, geysers, volcans, fossils, birds, fish, insects, etc.
