Pencil, pen and brown ink, brown wash, heightened with white, 20,6 x 16,5 cm, wove paper, signed "FG" (3 corners cut, few spots, traces of former mount on verso).
Mounted on paper at upper edge.
Careful pen drawing of armed men using the rocky landscape to their advantage. François Grenier de Saint-Martin (1793-1867) was a student of Jacques-Louis David (1748-1825).
