Folio: engr. title-[12] ff.; 65 pl. (all ff. mounted on guards on the centerfold different from the usual oblong binding, toned, some foxing and soiling, stronger on some pl., light water stains, 1 folded pl. browned, a few tears in some pl., a few pl. reinforced, pl. III, XLVII bound at the end).
18th-c. marbled calf, gilt-orn. spine with raised bands, red sprinkled edges (covers with scratches, corners rubbed, turn-ins with def.).
First edition of this illustrated account of the funeral procession of Albert Archduke of Austria (1599-1621) by E. Puteanus (1574-1646). Ill. with a very nice engr. title and 65 plates, numb. I-LXIV, by Galle after the drawings of the architect J. Francquart (1577-1651) showing all 675 people in the funeral procession with name and status, and 3 large folding plates figuring i.a. the "Chapelle ardente". Introduction in Latin, Spanish, French and Dutch. Variant issue without name of printer on M1v (as only described in Opac KBR).
