Violent scene of a settlers family in the Americas in conflict with Native People. A Native person has just been shot, while others are holding their handweaponry ready to strike. The scene is set near the settlers house in a tropical forest. Keating (London? 1762-1842) was a pupil of William Dickinson, worked with mezzotint and stipple engraving. In 1790, he joined his father's Catholic bookselling business, which he eventually took over; he also published his own Catholic books.
