Complete set of 4 animated harbor scenes of Vlissingen figuring activities such as: sailors unloading their ships, fishermen at the shore, a man smoking pipe, undocking, ship maintenance, etc. Good, clean impressions. Canot (ca. 1710-1777) was a French engraver who spent most of his career in England. He was elected an Associate Engraver of the Royal Academy in 1770 and engraved a large number of landscapes, seascapes, and other subjects after artists including Jan van Goyen, Claude Lorrain and Jean Pillement.
