2 vol., folio: [4]-790, [4]-472-[168] pp. (marg. wormholes in last part of vol. 2, browning, spotting).

Contemp. sheep, gilt-titled spine with 5 raised bands (heads of both vol. sl. damaged).

Rare 2nd Prague ed. of the rules of the Jesuit order as they were redefined at the 14th general congress of 1696 (1st ed. 1705). Woodcut Jesuit device on title. Title in red and black; text in 2 col. Bound with: at the end of the 1st vol., are some pp. from a later edition or work, numbered: 697*-764*, 1-12, 1-14, 789-803.

Joined: Faber, M. - Opus concionum tripartitum [...] editio quarta, correctior & auctior. Antwerp, H. Verdussen, 1650. 3 vol., folio (n.c., tear in title vol. 2, old repair to title vol. 3, marg. dampstaining in vol. 2 & 3, some soiling, browning and spotting throughout all vol.). Old leather band, rebacked with orig. covers preserved, gilt-titled spines with 5 raised bands (spines rubbed, corners sl. bumped). Matthias Faber (1587-1653) was a priest and professor at the university of Ingolstadt. He first published this work in 1631 and it was often reprinted. It contains 10 sermons for every Sunday or the year, written to either convert non-Catholics or safeguard Catholics from Protestantism. His sermons are remarkable for the clarity of their Catholic doctrine and learning. Part 1 = pars hiemalis, part 2 = pars æstivalis, part 3 = de festis sanctorum. Ref. STCV. - DBS III:501. Prov.
