Detailed plan of Brussels engraved by L.-A. Dupuis for J.J.F. de Ferraris and to be included in his "Carte marchande". Showing the features of an intermediate state, between the 3rd and 4th states described by Lemoine: with the Place Royale and the Brussels Park (1775-1782), where Ferraris was building his own residence and with the statue of Charles-Alexander of Lorraine on the Place Royale (4th st.), which was repeatedly overturned in 1793 and 1794, but with the surroundings of the Place Royale still on a blank background (3rd st.). Since the first states succeeded each other rapidly, this is one of the earlier copies with the engraver listed as "gravée par L.A. Dupuis géographe en 1777". The copperplates of this map fell into French hands in 1794, whereafter a metric scale was added in 1807.
