Mod. half leather, marbled paper on covers, (older) marbled edges. Good copy.
Rare original ed. (repr. London 1626 etc.) of a Latin epic poem on Bacchus’ discovery of tobacco in "India" (= America) and its curative and sensual powers. R. Thorius (15xx-1625) was a London physician who had earned his medical degree at Leiden University. With an additional poem "Hyems" (Winter) dedicated to Constantijn Huygens. Curious engraved title.
