Description du lot
Folio: [7]-cc ff. (ff. xlviii, cliv and last blank missing, lower corner of some ff. torn, but piece preserved or replaced in manuscript, ff. xciv & cii with a tear, some foxing and soiling, some tiny wormholes and -tracks in lower margin, occ. ms. annot.).
17th-c. blind-st. calf dated 1672, covers with central orn. ruled by double fillets with floral corner tools, spine with raised bands, metal clasps and 1 catch (rubbed, pastedowns with tears).
Extr. rare psalter printed for Cistercian use. This edition is possibly the issue of 1574 with a title dated 1576. The association Marnef-Cavellat used to ask printers for a large print run of an edition with different dates on the title page in order to sell the set over a longer period. Printed in red and black in Gothic, musical notations. Large printer's mark on title.
