Etching, 8,6 x 6,4 cm, laid paper (microscopic light brown spot on platemark at top right).

Under passe-partout and frame (not studied outside frame). Good impression with wide margins.

Christ disputing with the doctors as described in Luke 2:42-51. The young Christ standing at right. Sixth state with the plate cut down, the plate edges smoothened and three figures behind the table at left. The plate already somewhat worn, most notably at upper left, but before the long diagonal accidental scratch that can be seen on late impressions of the sixth state. From the original plate etched by Rembrandt in 1630. This impression from ca. 1700-1797 before the plate was heavily reworked by the workshop of Henry-Louis Basan.
