17th-c. gold-tooled sp. sheep, covers with gilt ruled frames and arms, gilt spine on 4 raised bands (sl. rubbed, corners sl. bumped, head and tail def.). Good copy.
Very rare 2nd ed. (1st 1564) of a commentary on canon law by the Louvain law professor and member of the Mechelen High Court Peckius (1529-1589). This copy was donated by the Mechelen archdeacon Amatus Ignatius de Coriache (1657-1731) to the Mechelen Oratorians. On 2 September 1710 it was awarded to "Petrus Steps Brux(ellensis)" as a Mechelen prize book. Ref. BT 6505. - Dekkers 131:5. - Pettegree NB 23824. - Not in Adams, STC Dutch (BL). Prov.
