Contemp. ms. copy of this regulation of an archery and/or crossbow competition organised in Hersselt (Kempen), with the permission of Philippe Ferdinand de Merode Westerlo. Ornated with his coat of arms and motto "Où serasse Merode" at the top, a large floral border, ornamented initials and lines enhanced in red and white. Prize list at the end.
Prov. Petrus Josephus Dillen (1807-1880), native from Balen (Antwerp), ordained priest in 1807, became chaplain of St. Peter in Molle in 1840 and then parish priest of Hersselt in 1855 (ms. mention on back). Our copy is quoted, with full transcription, in "Kempisch museum. Maandschrift gewijd aan geschiedenis en oudheden", II, 1891, pp. 249-253 (about the owner, see ibid., I, 1890, p. 161).
