Cont. overl. limp parchment, flat spine with ink title (small def.).
Most renowned work of Sibilla (d. 1493), physicist and Dominican theologian from Monopoli (1st 1493). First edition published by Bertano and with the additions and comments of Raffaele Maffei (1451-1522), theologian from the Servite order. Book divided in three parts or "decades" concerning the immortality of the souls, the Inferno, Purgatory, Paradise, the "bonis" and "malis" angels and the demons, and dealing wih astrology, the nature of demons, Duns Scotus' interpretation on the fire of Inferno, resurrection, the number of angels, etc. Printer's mark on title-page.
