The Shepherd's Calendar was first printed in 1491 by Guyot Marchant at Paris, and was reprinted many times in the late 15th and early 16th centuries. Based on the equation of the life of a man with the cycle of the year, the text offers a mixture of moral instruction and practical advice. Nice illustrations depicting shepherd looking at the stars, and a skeleton with coffin on a graveyard.
