Oblong album, 8vo: 23 ff., laid paper, signed on title in the plate "JVHaelbeeck f." (occ. sm. brown stain at lower edge, final fol. trimmed short and restored with laid paper).
Mod. calf gilt orn. covers, gilt. lettered spine with 5 bands.
Complete set of 23 plates (incl. title). Jan van Haelbeeck (1570-1630) was a Flemish engraver, mainly active in Paris in the first 30 years of the 17th century. He was part of a group of émigré Flemish engravers who helped transform French engraving practices. He worked on various religious publication projects, including this detailed series on the Apocalypse, after designs by Polish engraver Jan Ziarnko.
