Second edition (1st ed.: 1570) of this commentary on the Novellae, fourth part of the Corpus Iuris Civilis, collection of new constitutions passed after 534 and composed mostly in Greek. Cujas (1522-1590), a native of Toulouse, was a major legal humanist (they concentrated on ascertaining the correct text and social context of the Roman law), and was professor in various universities. With some extracts in Greek. Woodcut mark on title.
