Drawing, pen and black and brown ink, grey wash, 29,5 x 48,5 cm, laid paper, unsigned (laid down on cardb. support, trimmed to framing lines, brown stain at centre, vert. closed tear at left side, some smaller stains and foxing at margins).

The Macedonian King stands on a chariot drawn by horses and going to the left. The overall composition of the drawing seems inspired by Charles Le Brun's famous depiction of the historical subject, now in the Louvre (inv. 2898).
