Rare copy of Coronelli's "Isolario", often found separately, it was the 2nd part of the Atlante Veneto (1st ed.: 1690-1691), intended to be an extension of Blaeu’s atlas. Incl. 2 engr. titles, an allegorical frontispiece, a half-title "Isolario", 68 maps, 12 gores for the Coronelli globe and many portraits, views, plans, fortifications etc. interspersed among the pages of text. The titles and the allegorical front. by Alessandro dalla Via after Lodovico Lanberti bear the imprint "Gli argonauti” after the world’s oldest surviving geographical society, the Accademia degli Argonauti, founded by Coronelli. The "Isolario" with the first part covering the Mediterranean, Italy and the Adriatic; the second, Britain and Europe, Africa, Japan and Asia, and the West Indies, is considered one of Coronelli's most ambitious undertakings.
