Cont. blind-stamped calf over wood, spine on raised bands with label, metal catches (rubbed, spine def., clasps gone).

Translation by Niccolò Perotti of the first five books of "The Histories" of Polybius, relating the events occured in the Occident and the Orient from 264 till 216 BC. "Presumably reprinted from the Rome edition of 1473, with the addition of Janus' [Panonnius] Poem" (BMC). Text decorated with ornamental initials. Ref.
