Contemp. vellum, flat spine (loosening, stained). In good condition (toned, some soiling).

"Ce livre appartient a Mdelle C. Boelen pensionnaire au Couvent des Religieuses Penitentes Recollectines à Maestricht, ecrit le 21 Xbre 1772". Copy book of letters written by or sent to C. Boelen, a pupil in a convent school in Maastricht. Boelen came from a family in Amelsdorp (a hamlet of Waltwilder, now Bilzen in the Belgian province of Limburg). Her letters are addressed to her parents in Amelsdorp, and to relatives and friends in Limburg (Hasselt, Maastricht, Bilzen, "Maseyque" [Maaseik], Peer, Tongeren), and elsewhere (i.a. Bouillon, Brussels, Gemert, Leuven, Liège, Ostend).
