Memorial fête book illustrating the inauguration of Charles VI (1685-1740), Holy Roman Emperor, in Ghent, as Count of Flanders in 1717. With an allegorical frontispiece and 6 large engr. pl. by/after M. Heylbrouck, J.B. van Volxsom, J. Harrewijn, J.B. Berterham and C. Eykens. Picturing the solemn ceremony at St Bavo's Cathedral, the ceremony was conducted on an elaborate theatre stage at the Vrijdagmarkt, a triumphal arch, night-illuminations and fireworks in the city.
