Attributed on verso to the Italian Baroque painter Antonio Cavolucci (1752-1795). In the early 1780s he painted mostly portraits, while in his later years he worked for Cardinal Francesco Saverio Zelada, decorating his titular church San Martino ai Monti in Rome. The present drawing is thought to be for this project.
