Contemp. red morocco signed Bayntun (Rivière), plates decorated with a gilt rectangle surrounding a design consisting of three rectangles, double arcs and flowers in the corners and centered with a coloured enamelled inlaid miniature portrait of Shakespeare surrounded by an oval gilt filet and dentelles, gilt heart and lozenge decorated spine with 5 raised bands, richly ornamented inside plates with gilt rectangle surrounding gilt interlacings, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. Kept in a red cloth slipcase.
First edition with text taken from the Cambridge edition. Printed on hand-made paper by F.J. Head & Co., by Charles Whittingham and Griggs (printers), Ltd. at the Chiswick Press, London. Printed in black and blue.
