Contemp. vellum, central gilt coat of arms on covers, flat spine.
Later edition (first Paris 1625) of Grotius' masterwork, annotated by J. de Barbeyrac (1674-1744) and edited and pref. by M. Tydeman (1741-1825). Ill. with an engr. portrait of Hugo Grotius and an engr. front. by W.d. Broen. Followed by a text of "Mare Liberum" (first 1609) on maritime law and the right of free navigation and another treatise "De Aequitate, indulgentia et facilitate".
