Drawing, black and red graphite pencil, 24,4 x 33 cm, laid paper with watermark of Clock dated 1696 (Heawood:340-41), unsigned (several large creases, brown stain below centre upper edge, coll. stamp at lower right corner).

A large animated table with cardinals and priests enjoying their sumptuous dinner. A caricature on the excess and gluttony of the French clergy.
Prov. Lucien Rouzé-Huet (1820-1889), an important collector of Rococco drawings such as Watteau and Boucher (stamp, Lugt 1742).
