First edition of the first collection of works of Cartier-Bresson. It contains a selection of 126 photographs taken between 1930 and 1950, in photogravures by "Draeger frères". It was published at the same time in English under the title "The Decisive Moment" (New York, Simon and Schuster). Work designed by the art publisher Tériade (director of Verve) in a cover especially produced for this book by Matisse.
