Description du lot
3 drawings, aquarelles with traces of graphite, 34 x 23,4 cm (visible part), laid paper, 2 with handwritten calligraphic titles at upper edge, unsigned (sl. foxed).
Under passe-partout, under gilt frame.
Magnificent drawings by the famous bird painter Abbé Antoine Soudry (ca. 1750-1800), depicting a spoonbill, a common crane and two magpies. Like most bird drawings by Soudry, these drawings are unsigned. They have the finesse, style and calligraphic handwriting of other attributed drawings by the French draughtsman.
