The Ravetllat-Pla Institute, located in the Guinardó district of Barcelona, was founded by the veterinary doctor Joaquim Ravetllat (1871-1923) and doctor Ramon Armengol (1880-1958) in 1919. There, they conceived a theory for the treatment of tuberculosis that was deemed as heterodox by the medical institutions of the time.
