Contemp. gold-tooled vellum, on covers gilt decorative frames with gilt arms of Amsterdam and at the outer corners of the central frame, gilt spine with 5 raised bands with morocco label, sp. edges (front joint splitting at head and tail). Very good copy.
Early scholarly study of the Sibylline Oracles by S. Gallaeus (1627-1689), preacher at the Walloon Church in Zierikzee. Engr. ill.: front., fold. portrait (1685) of Gallaeus and 14 full-page pl. by R. de Hooghe. Sm. coin engr. (p. 442). Woodcut mark on title.
