Folio: [80, incl. engr. title and portrait]-356-[4]-303 pp.; 65 pl. (of 66) (1 pl. of geometry part. cut out, occ. soiling or dampstaining, tear in lower margin Cc5 and 1 plate fold).
Contemp. calf, blind-stamped raised bands with 2 labels, red sprinkled edges (used with some defects). Good copy.
Collected writings of the Antwerp Jesuit mathematician Tacquet (1612-1660), dealing with astronomy, geometry, optics, military architecture. Engraved title and portrait of Cardinal Rospigliosi (dedicatee) by Richard Collin. 65 folding plates. The flyleaf bears a possible ex dono of the editor Veteranus with the date 1668 (?). A label (very used) on the spine remembers this with the inscription: "DD VE[TER?]ANI" (= "Given by Veterani").
