Mod. three-quarter brown shagreen ruled with 2 gilt fillets, marbled paper on covers, gilt orn. spine with raised bands (front joint detached, rubbed).

Dutch trsl. of "Le grand theatre profane du Duché de Brabant", publ. at The Hague 1730 by Le Roy. This is a very nice iconography of the castles in Brabant and deals with the regions of Leuven, Brussels, Antwerp and 's Hertogenbosch. Illustrated with 3 armorial plates, 1 heraldic pl., 1 sigillographic pl. and with 67 plates showing 188 castles, city maps and views of the 4 above-mentioned cities, mostly printed 3 by 3 on 1 pl. This edition includes a treatise on seal rings (Verhandeling over de zegelringen).
