8vo: [16]-243 pp. (corner of p. 227 almost torn off, some usual min. browning).
Later quarter leather, marbled paper on covers, spine with 5 raised bands, red leather title label, endpapers renewed, red edges.
Later Latin ed. (first 1634) of "Tweevoudigh onderwiis van de hemelsche en aerdsche globen" (first 1620), a very popular textbook of cosmography by W. Blaeu (1571-1638), translated into Latin by M. Hortensius (1605-1639). With 34 woodcut ill. or diagrams in text. Woodcut mark on title. Blaeu was one of the first Copernicans in the Dutch Republic and aimed with this book to promote the Copernican hypothesis.
