Folio: [32]-1495-[1 bl.-56] pp. (margins of first and last ff. strengthened, incl. title with some sm. loss at outer margin; light toning, some thumbing at lower corner, some dampstaining at top).

Old mottled calf (sides sl. rubbed), gilt orn. spine with 5 raised bands (front joint and tail split but firm), gilt sides, red edges, marbled endpapers. Good copy.

Second, corrected Leiden Plantin Press edition of the great botanical encyclopedia by Rembert Dodoens (1517-1585). Ill. with an engr. title by W. Swan and +/- 1470 woodcut ill. of plants. With the "Beschriivinge van de Indiaensche oft Wtlandtsche boomen [...] die van Dodonaeus niet vermaent, oft niet beschreven en zijn geweest" on p. 1363. Text printed in 2 col., in gothic type.
