Aquarelle on paper, 17,7 x 13,8 cm, signed in brush at lower right corner "Pigal" (laid down on paper mount).
Under passe-partout.
A young boy punished by his parents with his trousers pulled down to his knees. Pigal (1798-1872) was known and much-loved for his comical caricatures of Parisian street life.
