Engr., 41 x 55 cm, hand-coloured (central folding, delicately toned).
Framed.
Blaeu's richly embellished map of Europe, which is an excellent representation of the decorative carte-a-figures style. Here in a 3rd state with the name of the author changed into "Guilielmo Blaeuw", first featured in Blaeu’s 1630 "Atlas Appendix". Present is the mythical island of Frisland between Greenland and Iceland.
