First state of Abraham Ortelius' map of Flanders, after Mercator's manuscript map, depicting the coast of the North Sea between Calais and Middelburg. With a small inset map of ancient Walcheren and Zeelandic Flanders at the time of Guy of Dampierre, Count of Flanders in the 13th c. From an edition of the "Theatrum" published between 1592 and 1612, because of the small crack in the copperplate in the top margin and the presence of the date of the privilege.
