First edition of the French translation by N. Gueudeville (1652-1721) of the classic Utopia of Th. Morus (1478-1535). Ill. with engr. title, engr. headpiece (arms of Wassenaer) and 16 full-page engr. plates, incl. the often censored or removed nudity scene on K4v, "l'étalage viril", the only pl. signed by the engraver F. van Bleyswyck: "A man and a woman in state of nature approving each other before marriage" (Gibson). On pp. 364-372 a stocklist of Vander Aa, and on the final 48 pp. an important "Catalogue de livres, des cartes géographiques [...] qui se trouvent tout nouvellement à Leide, chez Pierre vander Aa". Title in red and black.
