Near an open tomb and surrounding the dead body of Christ, Mary, Mary Magdalene, Joseph of Arimathaea and John are mourning. After a popular painting by Poussin, dated 1628, now in the Alte Pinakothek, Munich. Delfos (1731-1820) was mostly known for his drawings and paintings copied after Dutch and (to a lesser extent) French masters.
