Lot description

Engraving, 11,7, x 7,6 cm, laid paper, signed and dated in plate with monogram at lower left (trimmed along the platemark, old glue stains on verso).

Under passe-partout. A strong and uniform impression.

From the series "Roman Heroes" (1 of 4 pl.). Attilius Regulus is placed in a nail-studded barrel at left, about to be rolled down a hill by the Carthaginian soldiers and generals at right. Only state.
