First Dutch edition of "Voyage dans le Palestine" by the French traveller and diplomat L. d'Arvieux (1635-1702), first published posthumously from d'Arvieux's manuscript in 1707. Ill. with engr. title, engr. headpiece and 3 engr. pl. by Isaak de Wit Jansz. showing an Arabian horseman, the emir and the emir's wife. The author, having lived for 30 years in the area, gives an account of the traditions and customs of the nomadic tribes of Lebanon, Syria and Palestine.
