Lot description
Folio: [12]-292-[8]-317 pp. (lacking final blank, some spotting, soiling and marg. dampstaining, marg. tears, one with lack of text in pp. 311-317, wormholes in the end of the vol., one in text).
Contemp. blindstamped pigskin, covers ruled with fillets and roll-stamps (one with portraits, a.o. of King David), spine with 4 raised bands ruled with fillets and titled in ink (rubbed, some ink spotting on covers, corners used, wormholes on inside covers, 2nd inside cover reinforced with paper, hinges broken, lacking end flyleaf).
Printed in two columns, with parallel texts in ancient Greek and Latin. Contains in the 1st part Homer's "Iliad" and 2nd part the "Odyssey", followed by the "Batrachomyomachia" and the "Hymni" as well as from page 266 "De Homeri vita" by Plutarch. The two parts each have their own title, with Brylinger's printer mark, which means that they could be sold separately.
