Contemp. marbl. calf (rubbed, corners bumped, some sm. wormholes), covers with gilt central ornament within double gilt ruled border, richly gilt spine with 6 raised bands (rubbed, joints splitting, sm. def. at head & tail), gilt sides, marbl. edges. Good copy.
Early collection of biographical documents on Pope Adrian VI (1459-1523), collected by the Utrecht historian C. Burmannus (1695-1755). Engr. ill.: front., title engr., nice folding portrait of Adrianus VI by J. Houbraken, folding genealogical table, folding pl. (funeral monument) and 1 ill. in text depicting a medal. Title in red and black.
